I was totally WRONG about Ableton Live 12 MIDI features... 😳 Between nonsense patterns, randomly generated notes you can actually get something worth using with just a couple of simple to replicate steps. It's not that you can rely fully on them, but after some tweaks those patterns can become an infinite source of ideas 💎 Link to free Phrase Shuffler (try it on drum loops as well) philipmeyer....

Great stuff man... I thought that pitch curve was solid 🍆💪
thanks for the video and the kind reminder. its something I always plan to do but then totally forget about
Yeah, tbh that’s probably another reason why it isn’t so popular. I often forget about MPE as well but damn it’s so powerful. Thanks for watching 🙏
Smashing it!!
With the power of M4L 😎
Love it bro!!!
Glad you like it dude 🙏
@@Zdrewe you also produce? Or do 1 to 1 class??? Would be amazing for me to master my ableton 12!!!!!🔥
@naizondj damn, thanks for the trust man 🙏 I’m working on something like that in a form of patreon members exclusive 😉
На русскоязычном Ютюбе мало информации про дрилл слайды. Спасибо!
whats kind of the bass as shown at video...
What stand are you using to prop up your push?
It’s something called Gorrila laptop stand on Amazon (the wooden one) it worked fine but now I switched it to the regular laptop stand (the foldable one from Amazon as well) since it’s sleeker
I love all of Monomono's devices. I got the new pack with the Console a few weeks ago and it's great. If you click on the "Monomono" logo on the Console, there's a hidden feature where you can simulate re-routing the audio. I don't fully understand what it does exactly, but it sounds like ends up applying different saturation curves to the source audio. Great videos!
Cool Rack! I can also recommend the free Mix Matcher MaxForLive device by Funkatronics. Its a Perfect addition to the Mixing UU Rack. And mybe doing the EQ Filters in Parallel would be better than doing them after on and another. This would allow for listening lows and mids together. great Video tho! Cheers!
Damn right, MixMatcher is the 🐐. I actually used it in one of my previous videos as a instrument conflict analyzer (that was before I discovered TDR Prism which is free and way better). Good idea with parallel filters! Need to make an update for that since I was too busy trying to figure out the sidechain reference method 😂 Thanks for watching my friend 🙏
@@Zdrewe nice, Just set the EQs in parallel chains and set the Makro knobs to gain I guess would work quickly. ✌️
But what about game staging? could I set everything to 0db, gain stage and then play with the faders or should I just play witht he faders first and then gain stage? Thank you for your videos man, they have helped me a lot. I just want to know how to use gain staging and this mixxing method simultaneusly.
First of all, thanks a lot for watching man! With all respect gain staging is really an overrated therm especially in digital age. If you don't mind, you can watch my other video about mixing super loud where I showed slightly different approach - clipping every bus (and instrument) to 0dB and then playing with faders to get things to the level I want. It all depends on the genre and loudness target you aim for but to answer your question - I usually start with putting everything to 0 and then I play with faders following the technique from this video
My dream is that one day Ableton will have a way to use modulators like Bitwig, (of course you can create similar things, but in Bitwig it's something that becomes fun and intuitive) but even so, Ableton is my primary daw, because it's really powerful when you combine the tools
100% agree. Funny thing is that I started to get more and more familiar with Bitwig tools due to some similar comments and well... those are the only thing I would add to make Live more powerful. As you said, you can trick the system by using M4L devices for that but still, it would be awesome to have those things stock.
you are a pro
Thanks a lot brother 🙏
hi bro sorry if I write to you again for the same thing. where is this setting in live 12? then I wanted to ask you, I'm from fl studio. even on fl studio there was this setting exactly in the audio clip where you dragged the sample, pressed the wrench at the top and entered the time shift screen. together with the time shift there is also the delay time which I used to give a little delay to the hi hat layer. I don't know if you understand what I mean, however I use it often, do you know if this setting is also available on Live 12? I'm sorry if I comment like this, but I'm following your videos, they're super beautiful
bro please help me? where is this function in live 12? I don't see them
No worries, it’s there. Once you go to midi clip editor there are 3 tabs on top. One of them is MPE. You can go and watch my latest vid - I used MPE midi tools and you can see exactly where it is in 12
Last night I was surfing the net and I discovered it myself. but thanks anyway, if I hadn't found out, you would have saved me. I'll go straight to your video anyway out of curiosity
PRO SERIES!
Watching all of your videos. You're a genius, man!
been loving your M4L videos man
Glad to hear that brother 🙏
When I see that, I need to get Ableton 12 , just right now 😅
Imho MIDI tools (and possibility to use M4L to make them) made 12 worth paying the upgrade price
You’re like Marc Brunet for music ^^
I admit, I needed to check but now I get it. Thanks 🙏
Glisando and LFO for MIDI links please?
Both are stock tools available in 12.1 (currently in beta)
@@Zdrewe cool, so I wait for 12.1 then, thanks.
using ai to write chords progressions. no wonder music is shit nowdays.
Would you know, the same damn chord progressions are used over and over again the last 60 years? It has nothing to do with ai. It's all about how creative you are with it.
Exactly that. What’s more, I even mentioned in the video. 🫡
HAL9000 "Please replace my Max module, Dave." Thanks for the cool review and a flashback to 2001SO.
Glad to hear I’m not the only one who thinks it’s a masterpiece, not a long ass boring movie 🤝
Hi everyone, if you want to write midi effectively do yourself a favor and get Scaler 2. It's just incredible for music writing, midi writing and chord/music theory. Really easy to use and will save you tons of time.
in-app purchases 🙂
First two will be free as they release 12.1 officially. Speaking of M4L devices - there are a lot of great free ones (which I covered in previous videos). Getting paid ones supports indie developers which is way better than spending $ the same yet different looking plugins made by big companies 😉
Respect man, i started using live in 2005..i am having a little break in music production.. But your videos really inspired me, cheers
Means a lot 🙏 I totally get you, had some gaps in between making music but they ended up being good for overall inspiration. Wish you that as well!
One of the best mixing videos I have ever seen. Using -6 / -12 should be common sense but you are 100% in that theory. Thanks
Hi great video, where can i get the lfo midi m4L tools?
It’s a stock (not M4L) tool available in 12.1 beta
@@Zdrewe tysm!
Where is that Glissando "plugin"? Can't fint it in the stock ones.
It’s currently available only in 12.1 beta
@@Zdrewe Ok boss. Thanks for your videos. They are literally the best.

Loving the content brother!! thanks for putting me onto great M4L Tools!
No worries bro! Thanks for watching 🙏
If the stock limiter in Ableton isn't worth using, then why has it been included with the software??? I don't understand why we shouldn't use it?
I love the fact that people decide to make these great M4L devices and make them free, but there are often issues with many of them. For instance, we have a tendency to believe that if it's made with Max 4 Live then the CPU usage is great. NOT SO with SOOOO many of these plugins. An example is the PRE 73 you showcase here. It sounds great, but the CPU usage is off the charts compared to similar plugins from great 3rd party manufacturers. For instance, I can set my buffer to 512 samples and use 20 instances of VPRE73 from Black Rooster with only 25% CPU usage (plus those are optimized so they only use CPU when audio is running thru them). Meanwhile, just 8 PRE 73 instances gets me to 25-28%... Sometimes 3rd party is just easier to use across a massive session because they take the time to optimize them.
Not sure about the DRYWET automation of Petal, but Izotope Trash 2 (the OG one) suffers from this issue too - cannot automate DRY/WET. The solution for me was to builld a DRY/WET rack and just drop it in there and automate it.
Thanks for the reminder about using rack for that. Need to try it out 🙏
Could you also use Chainshaper in multiband mode to duck lower frequencies only
Yup, you can split it to 3 bands and use individual curves for each
You just save me! Thanks!!!
Excellent tip
Is there a way to make loop flip work for live 10 suite ?
Unfortunately no, from what I know it was made for 11 and up
@@Zdrewe thank you for your reply :) have à Nice day
